Ever wondered how to check if your website is showing up correctly on Google? There is actually a really easy way we check and something that SEO agencies like us use all the time! Follow our step-by-step guide below to check if your website is registered with Google.
Step 1: Find your Website
The first thing you should do is check to see if your website is appearing online. To do this, go on to your Google search and type in your website domain in the URL bar on the top of the page. Your domain should look something like www.yourwebsite.com or .ie depending on your domain type.
Step 2: Copy your URL and open up Google
Once you have found your website and confirmed that your site is appearing online. The next thing to do is to see if it shows up on Google. Firstly, go to your website and copy your domain by pressing CTRL and C or right-clicking on your mouse and clicking on copy. Once this is completed, open up a new tab or website page and go to Google's homepage www.Google.com or www.Google.ie.
Step 3: Find your website on Google
Once you have your domain copied and you are on the Google homepage, type "site:" into your search bar followed by your domain. You can paste your domain in by pressing CTRL and V or right-clicking and clicking on paste and hitting enter to start your search. This should look something like our image below.
Step 4: Check if your website is appearing on Google
This search will show every one of your website pages that show up on Google. You can view all the pages that show up and discover which website pages are not showing up. If you find that your website isn't appearing in search, then there's a quick solution to get your website to show up, register your site on Google Search Console.
